The eastern districts (District 15 and 16) of Singapore are popular and well-loved for being extremely close to town and Changi Airport and for having completely chilled vibes due to the shorefront, the beach, the Kallang River, parks and park connectors. 

Large areas are populated with landed homes and low-rised apartments, thus the lower density feels. 

It is also home to the heritage areas of Joo Chiat and Tanjong Katong. They are lovely areas to explore  on foot and teeming with food choices both international and local.

In June 2024, the eastern region now has it’s own MRT line (TEL) that directly connects to Marina Bay, Shenton and Orchard.
